I heard this song on a podcast called Song Exploder, in which songwriters/composers discuss the genesis of a single piece of music. Both the song and the podcast were new to me, and though I still don’t know anything else about Mr. Roderick or The Long Winters, “The Commander Thinks Aloud” and its story have stayed with me.
